Teaching Kids to Talk With God

Prayer isn't complicated—it's talking with a God who loves to listen. These simple guides help children pray honestly, confidently, and every day.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer… present your requests to God.”

Philippians 4:6

What is prayer?

Prayer is simply talking and listening to God. We don't need fancy words or a perfect moment. God is always near, always listening, and always good. Children can pray out loud, in their heads, in the morning, at night, or any time at all.

An easy way to remember

Pray with your five fingers.

A simple hand-shaped guide helps children remember who and what to pray for.

Thumb — closest to you

People You Love

Pray for family and friends who are close to your heart.

Pointer — those who guide

Helpers & Teachers

Pray for teachers, pastors, and people who point you the right way.

Tallest finger

Leaders

Pray for leaders in your country, community, and church.

Ring — the weakest finger

People Who Are Hurting

Pray for the sick, the sad, and those who need help.

Pinky — smallest, last

Yourself

Last of all, bring your own needs to God—He cares about them too.

Always
